Colorado Rural Workforce Consortium
The Colorado Rural Workforce Consortium is one of the nine federally designated workforce regions in the state of Colorado. The region serves 52 rural counties by providing a wide array of employment and training services at no charge. This is another one of the available business resources that should not be passed over.
These services are provided to both job seekers and employers throughout 11 sub regions and 35 offices. Oversight of the Consortium activities and policies is provided through the Rural Consortium Board and the Board of Local Elected Officials.

The Small Business Development Center
(SBDC) located on the campus of Otero Junior College in the SCORE (Southeast Colorado Office of Resource Enterprise) Center is an excellent source of business resources for both new and established companies. The OJC SCORE Center is one of 20 community based SBDC service-centers providing free one-on-one counseling services in the areas of business research and marketing, new business feasibility analysis, business plan preparation, finance packaging and other small business topics. Office hours are also available in Lamar and they can travel to Springfield as well.
The Southeast Small Business Development Center was created in 2001 and has been dedicated to helping entrepreneurs start and expand their small businesses in Southeast Colorado by offering individual, free and confidential management consulting. The small business resource center service area consists of Baca, Bent, Crowley, Kiowa, Otero and Prowers counties. The SBDC Network is a partnership with the SBA (Small Business Administration).
It combines the resources of federal, state and local governments with those of the educational system and private sector to meet the specialized needs of local entrepreneurs and business owners at the small business resource center. Management, financial and marketing experts work in partnership to provide entrepreneurs with crucial information that can mean the difference between success and failure. Utilize these business resources for the greatest chance of propelling your business to success.
